Alyssa and Dean met through mutual friends. At the time Alyssa was dating Deans good friend from school and Dean was seeing a girl Alyssa befriended. Their relationships ended and 5 years later they went out for coffee……the rest they say is history.
Alyssa found “her” dress at Hobnob Boutique after shopping all day at several other Bridal Shops. When she saw it she knew it was the one.
In his own unique style and after two failed attempts (one resulting in a trip to the Emergency room) Dean proposed to Alyssa ironically by writing on a coffee cup!
You can’t control the weather and when the rain began to fall, some plans for their special day needed to change. Alyssa’s advice…..”bring an umbrella and a dress change”.
Breaking with tradition Alyssa and Dean chose to see each other before the ceremony and reception at Laurelville Manor in York, Western Australia.
On a rainy July day they said I do and celebrated with family and friends under the canopy of beautifully adorned marquee, enjoying a delicious cocktail/canapé entree, buffet dinner and dessert.
Love and Marriage are like walking in the rain……together!
The Bride and Groom stuck with some traditions and their first dance as husband and wife was to “Beneath your Beautiful” – Labyrinth.
Alyssa’s only other piece of advice would be…..”When planning your wedding be sure to compromise with your future husband and make decisions based on what you want rather than trying to please everyone!” and “Be organised”.
