Brenton and Belwyn officially met at a B&S Ball in Quairading in 2011, they knew who each other was, but eventually connected at the Bachelor and Spinsters annual country event.
After 4 1/2 years together Brenton proposed to his Bride to be whilst enjoying a stunning sunset on a beach in Mandurah.
Choosing not to see each other before the wedding added to the suspense when the couple eventually laid eyes on each other at the ceremony.  After practising the brides entry a few times before the day resulted in Belwyn being exactly where she needed to be when the chorus of their chosen song was played.
Belwyn and Brenton’s wedding day exceeded expectations although the day went all too fast, marrying on the family farm followed by a reception at Talbot Hall which was turned into a fairytale setting for the celebrations.
Belwyn’s dress was from Bridal by Aubrey Rose in Mt Hawthorn, the second dress shop the bride visited, returning the very next day with close friends and they sealed the deal with tears when she appeared wearing “the” dress.
The couple chose to have an engagement photography session and Belwyn agrees that this was a good idea to get more of an idea about the images you want when your special day arrives.  Spending time with your photographer takes away concerns you might have and enjoy the moment.

  • You nailed it! Love the portraits with the trees. Great job!

  • Beautiful wedding, you did an amazing job capturing their special day!

  • Love the portraits in the trees. So pretty!

  • You did an awesome job with their wedding photography! I know they have to be in love with their photos. I especially love the ones of them amongst the lane of trees, beautiful!

  • What a gorgeous wedding and couple! I love all the details they chose; so elegant. And you really did an amazing job capturing their special day and bringing out all the lovely colors.

  • This wedding is so beautiful! From the couple, whose connection you captured wonderfully, to the decor of that incredible barn!

“I do” – Pinga and Talz grew up playing Polocrosse but it wasn’t until Talz moved to Geraldton that the pair really got to know each other and after 4 1/2 years they chose a small wedding with family and close friends at Nukara Farm, Geraldton. Everyone they wanted to share their special day with was there and many guests chose to stay the night.

The couple chose not to see each other before the wedding instead spending time with their respective dear friends in preparation for the ceremony and celebrations.  The wait was worth it from the look on Pinga’s face.

Talz stunning red rose bouquet was by Deanne Watts.

This couple have a special connection with their horses and incorporating them into their wedding photos was important to them both.  Talz advice……if there is a particular photo you want on the day, make sure the preparations (if any) are done in advance, like having the horses close by and ready to shine.

Talz’ attention to detail really shone through on the day with all the little things making it all that more enjoyable.

The stunning bride’s dress was from Tuscany Bridal in Leederville where she narrowed down “the one” to the dress that felt the most comfortable sharing the moment with honest friends and family to help.

Ping and Talz chose to have an “Unplugged Ceremony” which as she said “made it so much more personal and people were really in the moment with us rather than looking through their phones and cameras.   This is why you hire an amazing photographer with passion and talent for capturing these special occasions, our guests were instead sharing in our special sacred moment”.

The girls boots were organised through Rogue Pony in the couple’s home town of Geraldton and certainly added to the fun of the day.wedding photographer Geraldton 19pintopinterestwedding photographer Geraldton 20pintopinterestwedding photographer Geraldton 21pintopinterestwedding photographer Geraldton 22pintopinterest

Enjoy the slide show of this gorgeous couple who really made sure their special day was about the love they have for each other and those they chose to share their special day with.

Phil & Ellen were married in York where Ellen was born and spent her younger years.  Kate (Ellen’s Mum) and I met at antenatal classes that I was reluctant to attend.  I will always be grateful for Kate’s lifelong friendship and I clearly remember waiting for the phone call to say Ellen had been born.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow up and become the amazing young lady that she is today. To say I shed a tear or two is very much an understatement……… Thank you for having me be part of your special day, it was truly my honour.

Ellen and Phil’s high tea reception was held in Ellen’s Grandparents backyard under the most beautiful tree that has witnessed so many happy celebrations in the Weeks Family and I’m sure will continue to do so for many generations to come.

We Share Film + Postage = Where we live

This is where I live, York, Western Australia.  Founded in 1831 it’s the oldest inland town in the state, originally established for the growing of cereal crops necessary to feed the Swan River settlement some 97kms away.

I have lived here for 27 years, not bad considering I was only staying for a week or two and then heading to Broome. Isn’t life funny how you start in one direction and then head in another?  Well I didn’t really head in another I just stayed and have always been grateful for that choice .

Some of the images were taken on the farm where I live and some were taken from Mt Brown in town looking over York and the surrounding area . On this particular day I escaped with my camera, I had 2 assistants, Will & Rose, they also wanted to capture York so they had the images to take home with them once the holidays were over .

What I loved most about having them take photos with me was, WHAT they chose to shoot and what they saw as important. It always amazes me how we all see things differently no matter what our age.

I also started shooting this month with a Bronica camera, OMG it’s completely manual, feels like it weighs a ton and I didn’t even know if I had the film in the right way! To my absolute delight I did but I  had to wait for the scans to come back from The Find Lab first though.

So I’m feeling way more confident with it this month for our portrait theme.  Stay tuned!!!

I knew I could get my exposure right, I just didn’t know if I’d loaded and reloaded the camera right . All the images are unedited, these are the exact images I get back from the Find Lab.

Samara as always has beat me to blogging and again as always her images are beautiful.  I never get tired of looking at any of Samara’s work ever!  Hop on over and have a look HERE to see where she lives Samara  has the most adorable and well photographed kids I know!

  • Thank you

Wow, what a beautiful place! I love the countryside photos.

  • Liz Manson

Awesome!! I need to get out and do this too. Beautiful shots x

  • Peta Nikel

Such a gorgoues place! Love these.

  • These are great! I especially love the pug shots! And really inspiring too… I’ve been wanting to try film for ages and a while ago I asked my dad if I could borrow one of his old film minoltas. He responded by gifting me a huge box of every film body and lens he’s ever owned… and it’s sat it in my office gathering dust ever since. I really want to get them out though, I guess I just don’t know where to begin. How much different can manual in film be from manual in digital, other than not being able to check your shot instantly? And obviously needing to make more effort to read the light and etc…

  • Its just the same Pam but your right you just need to take a bit more time to read the light and you can’t just check it out once its taken . My Favourite film is Kodak Etkar 100 for out and about and for portraits or people it is Portra 400 Kodak also you’ll love it i have had so much fun with this project .

  • Leanne Stamatellos

Love that you used film – it has such a different feel to it. Beautiful images x

Well here I am again and running so so far behind with the film challenge, all the images posted below were taken with Etkar 100 film.

April saw me have a crazy month! Seeding began here on the farm and I travelled over to Melbourne to attend the Zero Regrets Photography Conference. I loved being in Melbourne and LOVED meeting so many new people. The conference was amazing and well worth the effort at a such a crazy time here.  You could say I might have over photographed the Autumn leaves, I just loved them.

On my way home I took the opportunity to detour and flew to Whyalla to see Hayden Em and the boys. I can never quite describe how much I miss them and certainly don’t need an excuse to fly there, but I was honestly way too close not to call in.

This month and every month I share this project with Samara and her link is here. Pop on over and have a look, its so worth it. Our theme for April / May  was SEEDING. Well I kinda didn’t get to take too many images as my camera stopped working, all because I bumped something.  Yep I got the dick award for it toooooooooo!  I did take a few once it got sorted and they will be developed this month at the The Find Lab and my turn to post the films off this month.

Bella was just perfect in every way, so happy and content.

I first got to work with Bella’s parents when they got engaged and then again on their wedding day. It’s always such a honor to go back and continue to work with them and meet beautiful Bella.

I am blessed with the task of recording milestones for many families and I will always relish the opportunity.
