I have many passions in life. Photography. My family. Where I live. I am lucky. I will grow old with my passions, lose some and find some new ones. But for Jules & Brad , helping Their son Jake make it through each day has become there passion. Jake has Friedreich Ataxia, a rare genetic disease that is incurable and affects the brain’s ability to function. It slowly affects a person’s ability to swallow, see, hear, speak, move, to find the energy to get out of bed each day … the list goes on. Jake was diagnosed with FA. When he was  13. These are real people, living near me in York. And now I want to help them. Jules,Brad and Jake have started a WAFA  support crew for people affected by the disease, via the Friedreich Ataxia Research Association in Melbourne. Of  course money is needed to find a cure and raise awareness of FA, and this is where you can help. Over the next six months if you donate money to this cause, you will go in the draw to win a family portrait sitting with NJ Humphrey Photography, valued at $400. All donations need to be made to me through Paypal and a receipt will be given for a tax deduction. At the end of the six months a draw will be held and the winner announced. I’ll be following their progress over the years, documenting it through my camera, so be prepared …. and please be prepared to give, and help  Jake and his amazing family bring awareness and much needed funds for research .

George and Katie married in Margaret River it was beautiful to photograph and be a part of their special day . Katie and George both got ready at the very lush and natural Riverglen Chalets in Margret River ,married in St Margarets Anglican Church and celebrated at Knee Deep Wines

Katie’s amazingly beautiful and elegant wedding dress was made by Georges Mum so clever it was just stunning

George and Katie met while working together in the UK George had never been to Australia,he packed up with Katie to come out here and live get married and settle in only weeks before their wedding, Welcome to Australia George . They have promised to visit the UK as often as they can but Australia is now home

Family and Friends traveled from around the world and Australia, to see them say i do and celebrate with them it was just beautiful in every way

Katie had told me she was having a cheese cake as her cake on the day it was nothing like i had imagined it was a great idea and was a real hit with everyone

once everyone was settled into the reception sally and I set up a photobooth for everyone to come and have a photo taken with there message of congratulations written on a chalk board it was so funny.

love and laughter by wendy haynes

May this marriage be blessed with love, laughter, peace and happiness

With love that supports and nurtures you and your family

With laughter that fills your home and family life

With a lightness and joy that is contagious

With smiles that welcome and relax

May you find peace in your space together and in your time apart

May true contentment and happiness be yours

Lisa &Brett travelled from Perth for their Maternity shoot. I shot them as newlyweds and was really looking forward to seeing them again. Lisa was about 36-37 weeks pregnant, so we started in my studio and then moved to the farm where she grew up. Lisa’s Mum – Shirl – joined us for a few shots. This little bub is going to be so loved. I can’t wait to photograph this little soul at only hours old. I  love that Brett and Lisa don’t know what they’re having.

There aren’t many surprises left in the world.   Read the rest of this entry »
