I have many passions in life. Photography. My family. Where I live. I am lucky. I will grow old with my passions, lose some and find some new ones. But for Jules & Brad , helping Their son Jake make it through each day has become there passion. Jake has Friedreich Ataxia, a rare genetic disease that is incurable and affects the brain’s ability to function. It slowly affects a person’s ability to swallow, see, hear, speak, move, to find the energy to get out of bed each day … the list goes on. Jake was diagnosed with FA. When he was  13. These are real people, living near me in York. And now I want to help them. Jules,Brad and Jake have started a WAFA  support crew for people affected by the disease, via the Friedreich Ataxia Research Association in Melbourne. Of  course money is needed to find a cure and raise awareness of FA, and this is where you can help. Over the next six months if you donate money to this cause, you will go in the draw to win a family portrait sitting with NJ Humphrey Photography, valued at $400. All donations need to be made to me through Paypal and a receipt will be given for a tax deduction. At the end of the six months a draw will be held and the winner announced. I’ll be following their progress over the years, documenting it through my camera, so be prepared …. and please be prepared to give, and help  Jake and his amazing family bring awareness and much needed funds for research .

I had the pleasure of meeting Deanne and her Family ,Deanne’s Family had organised a Voucher for her for her Birthday last year .

I headed to Aburn Park where Deanne has lived and worked for 17 years OMG it is just the most stunning Farm ,it is situated between Perth and York i have worked on Aburn before and again it certainly didn’t disappoint .

Deanne i loved working with you and your family it was a great afternoon so didn’t feel like i was at work at all oh how i LOVE my job

Stacey Nic and Kaylia it was  so much fun to photograph your family portrait . I was Lucky enough to photograph their wedding 7 years ago and i got to meet Kaylia as a newborn and was so surprised to see how much she had grown.Wow Kaylia you have the very BEST manners ever .

I have such a privileged job getting to meet and photograph some amazing family’s ,and the Mann family was one of these. I traveled to Beverley to do a family farm portrait for them we had CRAZY weather it went from really sunny to pouring with rain all with in minutes and several times over .

I was so excited to hear that Tyschia & Steve were expecting their first baby in August. Many years ago i photographed their wedding on a VERY hot Australia Day. Tyschia & Steve came out for a maternity shoot,i had put the shoot off several times during the week due to rain ,eventually we had a great day for it ,Just as well as their very cute very tiny little man decided to enter the world the very next day only 2 days before his due date. Dylan was as cute as i had imagined he would be and at only 16 hours old i got the amazing pleasure of meeting him and taking his very first portrait. Tim & Emma were out visiting from England along with 2 very very cute little  twin boys .Tim’s  Father lives here on a farm in York and i thought doing a portrait on the farm in York was fitting. In saying that we couldn’t catch Granddad to join us for the shoot i think he was camera shy.Hope you all had a good trip home and i look forward to seeing you all again on your next trip to Australia Read the rest of this entry »

Cuteness times three , these guys were happy busy little boys , that loved collecting sticks and stones and just pottering .The twins are just 2 and their VERY cute little brother is just 10 weeks old . I often think how lucky twins are always having each other and watching these two little boys happily play together made me certain of it ,such a special bond. They sure are 3 lucky little boys that will all have a special bond been so close in age . Thank you for having me as your photographer i loved spending the time with you all and your boys are just a delight ,you will have many happy times ahead as a family
